Great Trikkable iphone App!

Hey Trikkers who are also iphone fanatics (like me). Map My Ride has released an iphone app through the iphone app store. It's a free app that mimics the main site of http://www.mapmyride.com, but it allows you to use your iphone like a Garmin Forerunner and record your workout through the phones GPS system. All of your workouts are recorded with typical time and distance, and saved routes can be pulled back up for future rides. No heart rate info but if you already have an iphone this might save you from the double cost of a Garmin. Works best with the 3g iphone, but can be used with some loss of a couple of functions on the original iphone. Still a great tool and hey...its free. On the app store of your phone look for "imapmyride."

Level 1 Ride Strickland Rd Raleigh NC

Level 1+ Ride
Sidewalk
Begin and End at Falls of Neuse and Strickland Roads
3.92 miles round trip

Begin at the corner of Falls of Neuse and Strickland. Travel up Strickland on the right side of the road. When you get to Six Forks, turn right and continue on the sidewalk to the light at Lead Mine. Turn around on the same sidewalk and complete the loop.

This stretch of Strickland Rd is very flat with one or two slight incline areas. The sidewalks are nice and smooth. Very comfortable and enjoyable urban ride. Get off the trails for a moment and enjoy our beautiful city! Great for endurance and sidewalk practice. Level 1+ riders should be able to negotiate the sidewalk widths with no problems.

Start the New Year off by reviewing some of the great local rides we have in the Triangle. We've blogged on them over the past months. It's a great listing. Our riding group has gone to many of these locations. This is a perfect resource for when you go..."Where can I ride today?
